Barcelona chiefs "in UK to seal Coutinho", Seri efforts stepped up

Mundo Deportivo says a Barça delegation is in England, while L'Equipe claims the club are firming up their interest in Jean-Michael Seri.

Having mourned the loss of Neymar and enjoyed Monday's Trofeo Joan Gamper, Barcelona's focus must now turn to a final transfer-window push, and the re-investment of the 222-million-euro fee paid by Paris Saint-Germain for the Brazilian.

According to Mundo Deportivo, a Barça delegation led by CEO Óscar Grau, director of football Raül Sanllehí and first-team squad director Javier Bordas is now in the United Kingdom to seek to seal the signing of Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho seen as perfect fit for Neymar void

Coutinho is viewed as the ideal replacement for Neymar and, although the Premier League club and their manager, Jürgen Klopp, are keen to resist Barça's advances, the Reds are said to be being persuaded both by the footballer's reported desire to move to the Camp Nou, and the figures on offer.

Barça could finally fork out as much as 120 million euros for the 25-year-old, although the prospect of other players being included as makeweights is not being ruled out. Liverpool are thought to be admirers of André Gomes, and Rafinha Alcántara may also be a candidate.

Barcelona moving in on Nice's Seri, says L'Equipe

But Coutinho isn't Los Azulgranas' only target. While Real Sociedad defender Íñigo Martínez awaits developments in San Sebastián, L'Equipe says that Barça have stepped up their pursuit of Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri in recent days.

The Ligue 1 club are understood to be willing to part with the 26-year-old Ivory Coast international for between 30 and 40 million euros, with PSG and AS Roma also showing an interest in the player this summer.
