Amazon Prime Video have confirmed the actors that will play the key roles in Maradona, a biopic series that looks back at the life of Diego Armando Maradona dealing with his infancy through to later life.
Actors, Nazareno Casero, Juan Palomino and Nicolas Goldschmidt will each play a different age related Maradona which deals with his growing up in Villa Fiorito through to his turbulent time as a player.
The series was filmed in Argentina, Uruguay, Spain, Italy and Mexico and focuses heavily on his time as a youth player with Argentinos Juniors and winds up with his brief spell with Spanish side Sevilla. There is a heavy focus on his time with FC Barcelona and his incredible impact at Napoli where he drove the southern Italy side on to two Scudetto wins in 86/87 and 1989/90 seasons.
Head of the production company Francisco Cordero affirms that Maradona offered unprecedented access to areas of his life that are revealing of El 10 as both player and a man.
Following recent success with the "All or Nothing" Manchester City documentary and LaLiga's "Six Dreams", 'Maradona' is set to be Amazon Prime's next foray into the world of football and is pencilled for an early 2019 release.
